Mary made pie! Mixed berry. Our regular pie pan has a big crack in it for absolutely no stupid reason, so she used the square one. Still turned out fine. We’re going to have to go to Target a buy a new red round one. Bummer dude.

My long-awaited copy of the Mittens on Strings LP “Let’s Go To Baba’s” came in the mail today.  It’s a good thing Mary was home on spring break, because then I would have had to go pick it up myself!

Barbacoa tacos at Chipotle with fajita peppers & onions and tomato & corn salsa.  Sour cream, cheese, lettuce.  So many noms.

I enjoyed this picture so much I had to blast the contrast a little bit.  John Schuster is casually watching a lively game of 4-Square, feeling a little too sick to play himself after falling off the vegetarian wagon during a badly-serviced trip to Pappy’s Sweet Shop.

Matt (left) and Kyle (of University tWits fame) were dressed eerily similar. Even more eerie is the fact that they are actual conjoined twins. That last sentence is the only thing not true about this blog post.

John’s room always is always full of ultra-classy things for me take pictures of.

My burgeoning record collection. You would not believe how many takes of this picture I took, and subsequently sorted through, to find the right one (12). I guess it’s not that shocking of a number.

This is how time at my computer is typically spent after 9 o’clock at night.  I don’t know how she expects me to get any work done.

That Tootsie Pop has been in this pencil jar for at least a year.  I intend to keep it going as long as possible – if I don’t give in and eat it first.

The best toast: Honey Oat bread (from the breadmaker) with peanut butter, red plum jelly, and coarse-ground black pepper. Peanut butter is the best when it gets all melted and gooey, and if you think putting pepper on your PB&J is weird and gross, then you haven't tried it.  This was my breakfast, lunch, and and dinner today (no, I’m not starving – I had it three times).

Tonight I made a clock out of a book.  Sorry, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow – you wrote just enough poetry to give me the thickness required to sufficiently hide the guts of my clock.

03-19-10 I bought this little guy from the Preston Arts Center. He’s been helping me with my drawing. He’s also been going through a bit of a frolicking phase.

We had shish kebabs today. It is finally warm enough to go outside! Also Eli and I played bean bags, which we call cornhole down here in the South. I've been hanging out with Eli a lot.

This is the “nazar boncuÄŸu” Mary and I have hanging above our bed.  “Nazar boncuÄŸu” is apparently Turkish for “pretty glass thing that will protect you from the evil eye, but strangely looks like other cultures’ symbols for the evil eye.”

We got it from Mary’s old apartment – she sublet her room for the summer, and when the girl moved out she left this behind.  So I hung it above our bed – made for a nice light switch handle.

We only found out that it was our last line of defense against the forces of evil later on, when Tom visited our apartment for the first time.  He saw this hanging there and just about wet himself from excitement.

03-14-10

I took this picture early this morning – Elias Glasch was modeling “brushing one’s teeth in front of a mirror” to help me with a difficult frame.  Yes, it was part of 24-hour comic book day – besides myself and Eli, Mike Dodaro and Matt Gyure were also participating.  As was said in the post just previous (with respect to this one), I completed (sort of) 5 pages, Mike got through (I believe) 8, Matt has 12 (available for public viewing on his blog, Killer-Tofu), and Eli got a big start on an animated film.

24-hr comic book day:  Great Lakes, Great Times!

Also I am now in the process of scanning, redrawing, and coloring my comic book pages, and they will be posted as soon as they are ready.  Frames 1-3 are already completed!

03-13-10

Today we had 24 hour comic book day. It was a lot of fun, but ultimately much less productive than I would have liked. I did, though, end up with 5 (mostly) completed pages. Mike (here with his nose to the grind) I think drew a full eight pages.

I thought about rotating this picture, but I liked it enough sideways to leave it. For some reason I feel like I have to let you all know.

We met up with some friends at Chumley’s after school on Friday, and we ended up staying for a while. Here, you can see that Mary was enjoying herself for at least the split second it took for me to take the picture.

I made another loaf of bread in the bread maker today, but I don’t think it turned out as well as the last two.  Although the last two loaves we made didn’t rise enough, they were still really good.  I tried a different kind of bread this time – and it rose to the right height – but it came out a little spongy.  I actually think it’s all the honey (recipe called for 3 tbsp of honey) and maybe the bread flour.  I think all-purpose or wheat would have worked better.  Oh well.  Still good with jelly!

Got the camera back!

I was going to go to the gym today, but I decided to have a pizza instead.

Actually, the we didn’t go to the gym because we were too busy buying a house.

Oh yeah – so we bought a house today…
